When you think of taking a soothing bath to clear your mind, ease your soul, and heal your body, you may think of your favorite bath salts, but you may have not thought to add Cinnamon. Yes, cinnamon! Cinnamon isn’t only for cooking and I’ll have you know that it’s an incredible way to naturally ease congestion and protect your system against viruses.
The Healing Power of Cinnamon
Cinnamon is made up of many different important parts such as magnesium, iron, tannins, essential oils, mucilage, coumarins, and zinc. Cinnamon is great for waking up a sluggish digestive system which is exactly why many people eat it as a part of their daily breakfast. Protecting our body form blood sugar spikes is another super power of cinnamon.
As cinnamon gets to work inside of your body it will naturally warm and stimulate your system which will improve circulation and stimulate the immune system. It also acts as a natural antiseptic which can tackle colds, flus, fungal and viral infections.
That means that not only does cinnamon taste great but it helps your body to fight some of the toughest and most common infections going around your local town!
Use this great tasting and well-researched medicinal bark to add some flavor to your other home medicinal concoctions or recipes. I like to add some to my morning oatmeal to take away the bland taste while waking up my immune system.
Cinnamon Salt Bath
Use this awesome salt bath mixture to help heal a cold, boost your immune system and protect against fungal and viral infections. You can even use this incredible blend for your next romantic evening.
Do what now? A bath in cinnamon? Well, why not then. Cinnamon is warming, decongestant, antiseptic, and even antiviral aid for congestions and colds. Just know that any sea salt will do, but for the best results, you will want to use large Celtic salt grains if you can find them as they will add extra minerals to your bathwater.
- 3 tbsp of cinnamon powder
- 1 tbsp of ginger root powder (this is optional but why not add in the amazing ginger)
- 1 cup of sea salt
To make your bath salts
Simply stir the powdered herbs into the salt and store in a sealed glass container until you have need of them.
How to use said bath salts
When you are ready for either a romantic evening or a nice relaxing bath after a rough day at work is to add ¼ cup of your salts into your bathtub. Stir it in and get to relaxing in your bath!
