When I think of aloe vera I think of cool sunburn relief. But what I never thought to do was use its incredible cooling and soothing power to help ease my achy muscles and joints.
See, what I didn’t understand about aloe vera is that in addition to cooling the problem area, it also contains a high concentration of anthraquinones which helps to rapidly heal and repair tissue. On top of cooling and healing it has one more natural attribute that really seals the deal for me: it is a natural pain reliever.
Issue with many pain relievers:
See, the issue with many traditional pill pain relievers is that they only numb the pain. Some will add in the extra ability to act as an anti-inflammatory agent as well, but these NSAIDS have a cost which often appears in damage to the liver or stomach lining in exchange for some temporary pain relief that doesn’t actually help solve the root of the pain.
This is where plant medicine can become a great tool in your life. Since they are complex living structures, plants are made up of so much more than just one of two synthesized chemicals. They have many uses both nutritionally, to support and prevent illness, and medicinally to help us heal after any damage is done.
Why Aloe Vera is a must-have in your home!
The gel from the aloe vera plant is packed with some incredible ingredients such as fiber, vitamin E, B vitamins, selenium, silicon, enzymes, and aloin. If you decide to drink it we recommend adding some lemon, vegetable or fruit juice as it can have an unpleasant bitter flavor.
The gel is incredibly healing both topically (on your skin) and internally. It can help heal digestive issues, such as ulcers, inflammation, and colitis. It is also well known in easing arthritis and bursitis when it is taken internally and applied externally.
