In a world that is so full of pain, addiction and stress, it is angels like Dashama in the video below that make all the difference.

pexels-photo-45644-largeThe unfortunate truth is that most of us go to great lengths to avoid real human connections, often as a result of our projections of fear, or even our own past experiences.

Are we afraid to be the real us in public or around our friends? Do we hide behind labels, society’s rules, or our own fears?

free-hugsMost of us walk down the street afraid to strike up a conversation with another person.  How often are we completely surrounded by other people only to feel completely alone? It is so common to find ourselves feeling lonely and in need of a hug when there is no one there to give one.

Today, some people are working to counter this isolation and lack of affection by making loving touch more available. Free Hugs are happening all over the world including in Hibiyakoen, Tokyo.

There are so many people out there spreading the love with no thought of fame or fortune.  They are simply sending love in the best way that they know how and helping shift people’s paradigms.

If we truly want to change this world, we need to start with loving the people around us and create a safe space for people to be real and to have real connections.

Check out this heartwarming video of one woman making a difference in such a simple, yet important way. It literally gave me chills.

If you look closely at this video, many of the people didn’t accept Dashama‘s hugs. Others still smiled and appeared to be touched by her love for complete strangers. We need more people like Dashama, giving love and connection to the strangers in our lives. It only takes a moment to reach out, even if it is just a smile or a warm hello!

I know we have gotten to a place in society where people don’t always react well to those sorts of things but you never know the eventual outcome of reaching out to a stranger. You may get through their emotional walls and really make a difference.  In the end, everyone just wants to be loved…

Have you done things like this? We would love to see your videos and hear about your stories of spreading love and kindness across the world. Please let us know in the comments!
